About us
Balfour Beatty Living Places manage and maintain Coventry’s street lighting assets, ensuring they are efficient, reliable and safe.
In October 2010, Balfour Beatty Living Places was awarded a 25-year street lighting PFI partnership by Coventry City Council.
Over the first five years, we replaced and upgraded all of the street lights across the city, creating a more sustainable network by reducing energy usage by 50%, minimising light pollution, improving response times, and reducing the overall number of street lights by 10%, helping to save 3,000 tonnes of carbon emissions each year.
Assets maintained by Balfour Beatty Living Places on Coventry City’s Council’s behalf, include:
- Street lights
- Illuminated bollards
- Illuminated signs
- Subway lights
- Illuminated beacons
- Electrical feeder pillars
- Some underground street lighting cable networks.
